Tripping the running generator on a simulated low lube oil pressure and testing the power management system for automatic power recovery.
Working in a ships duct keel 🚢⚓
Переглядів 2,6 тис.3 роки тому
The duct keel is a tight and claustrophobic space running along the keel of the ship. Today we are making an entry to remove a faulty Ballast valve actuator.

Their moto is basically go big or go home 😂
It never fails to impress me how much thought and effort must’ve been involved in order to create these complicated behemoths of machinery.
I wonder what the oil capacity is
I agree with Grandma. So beautiful. Only just discovering this song. You did it beautifully
Poor Dali was doomed the moment she lost all power. There was no recovering with the time they had, or lack there of.
0:03 "MAIN ENINE" .... interesting, ....
Listening in 2024 bro you’re awesome
So is this a diesel motor? Or a large steam engine? Sounds like a Train
Many thanks 🙏 for good vídeo from former crew ship Luanda Angola
Many thanks 🙏 for good vídeo from former crew ship Luanda Angola
no idea how much involved very interesting
Why do you need to turn off the lights on a ship? ... This looks like a good first person horror game. Your entire crew has disappeared somewhere, and you are walking alone around the blacked out ship, trying to figure out the situation.
really good for a swede
Seeing this first time, always wanted to see this ever since I saw Titanic, Awesome
Will we ever get a large ship where you can simply start the main engine using a key switch on the bridge, with computers and electronic devices doing all the rest of the mechanical work in sequence to bring it to idle?
Thank you from Kherson Shipyard
Sweet Jesus. Amazing
I thought they just put the key in and started it.
Sound good but engineers policies must Change their attitude after all just 4 to 6 months contract instead of that many under qualified ce and second behaviors never change before they have not having good experience and confident only DMIT Chief eng are much better there are good topics like small alternator runs by exhaust gas and it takes all ships loads and shaft generators will takes half load and total 4 to 5 kw lighting's saved by UMS system even you can find no nice and very big Auxiliary engines comes with auto sync to manage in case of problems with steam alternator failure to taking full loads AE will takes over so people must think something else instead of fingering harassment and angry on with out any reason sacking them and many ce and second are getting curse curse curse..i remember those who do said problems to the Lowe officer's one day God will punish them one captain both brothers are sacking many people finally they head it ..

I love the type ship .. two stork engine... manual control..
all praise to the LORD,all ships are sailing over the surface of water with his will, he is superior , and we are just dust of earth. alhamdulilAllah
ANY HELP? May I ask 1 question out of curiosity? If, for example, I want to shoot with a camcorder 1-2 shots at the time the boat starts... Should I protect the factory microphone of the video camera with something, or the microphone that I will have attached to the video camera so that it does not burn out from the high noise level of the engine? or does the microphone play a role, to withstand, for example, up to a point of noise sensitivity? *Does anyone know anything about this detail?*
what is the name of the ship?
May I ask what song, mate? (Especially the last one)And great playing by the way!
Is there a accuracy requirement for the “rudder position indicator”? I guess my question is, How accurate is the indicator in relation to the Helm?
V. Nice lyrics 👌
It's ab entire factory that produces power.
perfect sound
Wow! Amazing!
You do your power chord fingers backwards, that threw me for a second haha, great cover thanks

Oh man... That's a dream come true... Thanks so much Digger...
Whermacht march style, the helmet too....
Is it monthly tes of ship backing out ?
No, this was a shut down for dry docking.
Ship engine rooms is very noisy...
is too long bitch
We’ve come a long way since the days of sailing during the time of Christopher Columbus.
Uber Ships
Why would they give these grease monkeys white-colored fatigues? Is the purpose to make them look dirty as a show of work ethic?
Chief mate reporting! I've been in container ships smaller than this (feeder ships) but the process is basically the same. Interesting that in this ship it's the engine that tests the rudder. Every vessel I've been on it's the bridge that turns on the pumps and puts the rudder to max angles before departure.
My understanding is that it is a requirement for engineers to test power failure, alarms and local control at least 12 hours prior to departure as per SOLAS. After testing in the steering flat is complete, test emergency phone and switch pumps to remote for bridge to carry out their tests.
@@samreyy Well Feeders don't stay long enough in Port for that. I used to sail on larger Container Vessels, a Nd even there, staying in Port for 8 + Hours was rare.
@@samreyy That is absolutely correct.
How can i joint to that vessel 😩
Jeez, you only use 30bar to start your diesels? We used 210bar for our tiny little V16 generators in the navy.
Force = pressure x area
I can't even imagine how much oil and hydraulic oil it takes to run the engine rooms machinery
Imagine how powerful a ship engine must be. Weighing as much as 3 elephants with a proper 5 - 10 metres accross.
I'm so glad I randomly came across this, very cool!! I may have missed it, but doesn't the fuel need some kind of pretreatment beforehand? Heating it up or something like that?
Fantastic interpretation! 🥰
Fascinating, thanks for posting. Forgive me if this question has been asked before but does the main engine have an air-powered starter motor? Cheers
Each cylinder has air start valves - injects air into cylinders
@@samreyy Cheers, thanks for responding
❤
AMAZING!
